Box Joint Experiment

I wanted to build a table using Box Joints. But I was using big clunky pieces of 8/4 maple so I couldn't use a table saw jig and I am not good with hand tools. So I decided to experiment with a router and a template. Check out the video to see how it turns out!

Armor tool sent me their table and clamps to try out. It could not have been more perfect for this application. I was able to clamp both the template and the work piece with just 2 dog hole clamps and it felt super secure.

The only problem was my decision to create the template by cutting the pieces on the miter saw. By doing this, I had to glue up end-grain. Glue on end grain joints are not really so strong. So next time I attempt this, I will rip some pieces through the table saw, that way the template will be glued up edge to edge.
